THE PROMOTION OF FEZ AS A 'NEW' SHORT BREAK DESTINATION STAYING AT THE CITY'S LEADING HOTEL

Palais Amani, Fez - Morocco

An ongoing campaign which has elevated Palais Amani to the 'must-visit' hotel in the city of Fez. Through themed press releases, press trips and journalist visits and unique cooking experiences, Palais Amani has received many outstanding articles. The hotel has appeared in UK newspapers, magazines and on television shows. The online articles have attracted global audiences. In addition to UK media, we have also worked with selected German, French, Portuguese, Irish, Australian and US publications. More recently, with the expansion of Fez airport, we have worked with all airlines and their in-flight magazines to focus on Fez. With Ryanair and TAP Air Portugal we produced videos showcasing Fez and Palais Amani. These are available across all social media platforms. We also partnered with Air Arabia Maroc on the launch of the London Gatwick route and continue to do so.

THE PROMOTION OF CORNWALL'S ICONIC HOTEL AND THE LAUNCH OF THE LARGEST SPA IN THE AREA

The Headland Hotel, Cornwall - England

We reintroduced The Headland as Cornwall’s finest hotel whilst also promoting Newquay as an ideal year-round destination. We were responsible for Cornwall’s largest spa launch (The Headland Spa). Our PR strategy was to position The Headland as ideally located for beach breaks offering spectacular views surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on three sides. At the same time highlighting the proximity to London, Manchester and other large UK cities with the expansion of Newquay Airport. The spa launch attracted extensive media coverage and awards, while also celebrating the history and charm of The Headland (having starred in Hollywood movie, The Witches, the hotel is an iconic film location). Several spa break packages were unveiled along with surf and spa offers with the hotel’s surf school Surf Sanctuary. The UK's leading spa and wellness journalist, Jo Foley launched the spa with Malcolm Bell head of Visit Cornwall. The hotel appeared in every major UK newspaper, magazine and website. We also worked with extensive German media to promote the destination which was popular with the German market due to Rosamunde Pilcher's Cornwall set novels which was adapted for German TV on ZDF.

THE PROMOTION OF A RESORT STYLE BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN ESSAOUIRA FOLLOWING THE LAUNCH OF DIRECT LONDON FLIGHTS

Jardin des Douars, Essaouira - Morocco

Beautiful Essaouira is quite different to other Moroccan destinations. It remains relatively crowd-free and the big developers haven't moved in. That means, visitors get to experience a quiet beach, a manageable and enjoyable medina, and uniquely combine a coastal and city atmosphere. When direct flights were announced from London, Paris and Brussels, it was the ideal time to promote Jardin des Douars, an independent hotel with stunning accommodation including three luxury villas, two restaurants and two outdoor heated pools. We built the campaign around the property as a unique eco retreat experience and generated media coverage in all the main UK newspapers, magazines and websites and selected French newspapers. The website coverage attracted global audiences and continues to do so. In addition publications from Mexico to Argentina picked up and covered this unique property.

THE PROMOTION AND LAUNCH OF A UNIQUE DESIGN FOCUSED HOTEL IN THE HEART OF MARRAKECH

Almaha Marrakech, Marrakech - Morocco

This was a dream project. Almaha Marrakech is located in Marrakech's oldest neighbourhood, the Kasbah, where the former royal stables once stood. This independent boutique hotel is within walking distance of the medina and souks, making it the ideal base from which guests can meet local artisans who produce handcrafted Moroccan items.
The hotel celebrates Moroccan craftsmanship throughout. Famous Belgian designer Charles Kaisin, a huge fan of Morocco, spent time developing local relationships to source unique handcrafted items, which appear across Almaha Marrakech. For the decor Charles Kaisin actually drew inspiration for Almaha Marrakech from Charles Baudelaire's famous poem 'L'invitation au voyage'. With just 12 individually designed bedrooms, some with their own private area on the roof terrace and access to the rooftop outdoor pool, Almaha Marrakech has the feel of a luxury, grand private residence. Almaha also includes an underground luxury hammam and spa, a design bar 'The Pixel Room' and a residents-only restaurant 'The Library'. Thanks to our passion and hard work, the hotel appeared across a selection of UK newspapers, magazines and websites.

THE PROMOTION OF A LONDON 'GRANDE DAME' FIVE-STAR LUXURY HOTEL

The Stafford Hotel, London - England

We positioned The Stafford Hotel in London as one of the finest independent ‘Grande Dame’ hotels in the city. The hotel had previously been part of a group and under new owners it wanted to elevate itself further as an iconic five-star British hotel in the capital city. The hotel’s history, its famous American Bar, wine cellars and special events were profiled across the media with dedicated stories. Events included monthly Literary Afternoon Tea Salons with guest authors promoting their latest books. Peter da Silva set these up with journalist Liz Hoggard who interviewed each author. Results included features and reviews in all the leading UK newspapers, magazines including luxury titles and a wide selection of leading websites.

THE PROMOTION OF A FAMILY-RUN RESTAURANT WITH ROOMS WHICH WAS AWARDED A MICHELIN STAR

Hampton Manor - Warwickshire, England

Develop a story across the media to firstly introduce Hampton Manor as a unique family-run hotel (which later became a Restaurant with Rooms) and put it on the map as one of the UK’s leading restaurants. Secondly, tell the story to the media of the journey the family and their loyal team went on to create individual, beautifully designed dining areas (Peel’s Restaurant, Fred’s Bar and The Parlour) and establish a distinct personality for each, especially Peel’s Restaurant. The 15-bedroom hotel is a fantastic base to explore the UK’s second city, Birmingham. Peel's Restaurant was awarded a Michelin Star in 2016 and has retained the star. It also won the first Service Award from Michelin at the live event in London. Hampton Manor has appeared in all the leading newspapers, magazines and websites and on television. Leading travel critic Fiona Duncan was the first journalist to review Hampton Manor awarding its restaurant a 10/10 in her Daily Telegraph newspaper column.

THE RE-LAUNCH AND RE-POSITIONING OF A LUXURY WELSH HOTEL

Llangoed Hall - Powys, Wales

We told the story of how a much-loved hotel, now under new ownership was completely refurbished, whilst celebrating the history of the property. The former owners of the house were the Ashley family - and there are fascinating textiles by famous British fashion designer Laura Ashley throughout the rooms. We also celebrated the hotel's unique location surrounded by the Black Mountains in Mid Wales. Over 5 years Llangoed Hall appeared in every UK national newspaper, across many magazines and websites. We organised a selection of guest speakers for themed lunch events which attracted local media coverage. Throughout the campaign the hotel was awarded AA Hotel of the Year, Wales. The head chef appeared on the BBC and the restaurant won many awards. The Sunday Times Newspaper featured the hotel on the front cover of the newspaper with the hotel appearing in the annual Ultimate Hotels supplement as a category winner. We partnered with selected car brands for driving promotions and media coverage in specialist publications.

THE PROMOTION OF THE UK'S ONLY FIVE-STAR WINE HOTEL

The Vineyard - Berkshire, England

We positioned The Vineyard Hotel across the media as the UK's wine hotel. The hotel is home to 30,000 bottles of wine and within its four walls there are many stories to share including The Judgement of Paris tasting dinners, WSET qualifications and wine schools. The hotel has appeared in all the leading UK newspapers, magazines and websites and has received global online interest, particularly from the US market. The Vineyard has appeared in competitions on television including on Channel 5's Hotel Inspector and on the Sony Movie Channel. In 2018, the hotel celebrates its 20th anniversary and we continue to attract media coverage in all the main publications.

THE PROMOTION OF AN INDEPENDENT DESIGN HOTEL IN COPENHAGEN

The Andersen Hotel - Copenhagen, Denmark

With strong visitor numbers from the UK we positioned The Andersen Hotel as an affordable, centrally located, design hotel with personality for the UK market. As the hotel doesn't have a restaurant we partnered with one of Copenhagen's leading restaurants - Mielcke & Hurtigkarl which is located in Frederiksberg in The Danish Royal Horticultural Society’s Garden. The partnership allowed us to showcase all of the leading elements people consider when visiting this magical city including design and cuisine. Other partnerships include a running company: Running Copenhagen and the Danmark Design Museum. Articles appeared and continue to appear in the leading UK newspapers, magazines and websites. We have also worked with many global in-flight magazines for airlines that serve Copenhagen who have featured The Andersen and sister hotel The Absalon Hotel.

THE PROMOTION OF WALES'S LEADING FOODIE HOTEL

Ynyshir Hall - Machynlleth, Wales

Highlight the arrival of new chef Gareth Ward and the freedom given to him by owners Joan and Rob Reen who celebrated 25 years at Ynyshir Hall in 2014. Gareth went on to win a Michelin Star.
Joan Reen was a truly remarkable woman and made a huge impact on all those she met. Running one of the UK's leading country house hotels with her husband Rob, Joan would meet many thousands of people over the years, and all who met her felt compelled to return if only to spend some time with her.
Peter knows this first hand. When he first met Joan, he was working for a hotel group and she instantly became his favourite hotel manager. Ynyshir Hall is such a special place and Joan and Rob made the hotel even more appealing. Peter will never forget her warmth when he started his PR business and contacted Joan first to work with her once again.
On Friday 12th February 2016 aged just 67 Joan died. It was a shock to everyone. Her funeral attracted hundreds of people, all of whom felt like family. Joan had that unique quality to make everyone feel welcome, to make everyone feel included and ultimately she made you feel like you were family.
Over the six years Ynyshir Hall appeared in many national, regional and local newspapers and magazines. Every journalist who wrote about Ynyshir Hall also wrote about Joan and Rob Reen. Both had such a huge impact on everyone they met and this resulted in rave reviews from people in the UK but also globally with fans of Ynyshir visiting regularly from the USA, Canada, Brazil, New Zealand and Germany.
Joan and Rob Reen took ownership of Ynyshir Hall in 1989. Prior to acquiring and managing Ynyshir Hall, Joan and Rob were both teachers. Famous guests have included Richard Gere, Julia Ormond and Eddie Izzard among many others.
Unfailingly modest, there is no doubt about Joan’s  charisma (in 2014 she had a 10-page cover interview in In Business magazine). She cites her parents as role models. “Together they created a fantastic business and ran it very successfully for 50 years. They made sure each of their four daughters had a university education, but most important, they instilled into all of us a work ethic that has stayed with us all our lives."
Fiona Duncan, the UK's leading hotel critic of the Daily Telegraph reviewed the hotel in May 2015 awarding it a 9 out of 10. She commented; "It would make a good book, even a film".
