Enjoy 10 memorable moments at Jardin des Douars:

Alfresco Essaouira officially has around 320 days of sunshine per year and Jardin des Douars have made the most of this by offering plenty of alfresco opportunities. Guests can enjoy all meals outdoors under the sunshine during the day or stars at night (mid-May to mid-October). There are plenty of spots to relax outdoors too, by the heated swimming pools or around the botanical gardens.

Bedrooms There are 19 bedrooms and 6 suites in total and three luxury villas. Each has its own distinct style decorated with colourful Moroccan furniture and fabrics. Most bedrooms and suites have their own outdoor area with seating.

Botanical Gardens Jardin des Douars is located in one of Morocco's most stunning botanical gardens with views of the argan-studded hills. There are many varieties of tropical trees and plants. Visitors will spot the various phoenix canariensis or the butia capitata, callistermon linearis or the sabal pamettos. If these are hard to find just ask one of the gardeners.

Cocktails Before dinner, guests all gather in the main dining room bar or on the terrace bar outside, for cocktails. The well stocked bars serves classic cocktails and original creations in a relaxed ambiance. Cocktails include mojitos, Hendrick's, cucumber and rosebud and the Rosemary Jardin des Douars.

Dinner Guests can eat in the main dining room, a more intimate 'couples' dining room or alfresco on the terrace. There are various menus which showcase Moroccan dishes, French dishes and fusion cuisine. Main dishes include Melting lamb shanks, pea purée, parmesan chips and Beldi chicken tajine with olives, orange reduction and saffron.

Hammam Jardin des Douars is home to a hammam and spa where treatments are offered using Argan oils. Le Jardin des Douars offers a varied hammam and spa treatment list not typical of most hotels, the Argan oil used is local and organic. Treatments include the Skin exfoliation Hammam with Smimou Salt and Argan Oil.

Peacocks There are two resident peacocks and guests may also meet the many tortoises located around Jardin des Douars. They add to the unique charm of the place.

Siesta On a sun lounger by one of the swimming pools, in the sunken lounge area in the main dining room, during a spa treatment, in a bedroom... there are plenty of snooze opportunities throughout Jardin des Douars.

Swimming pools There are two outdoor heated pools. One is for 'adults only' and the other for families. Both are located surrounded by beautiful plants and trees and with a mix of sun loungers, chairs and small side tables for drinks.

Villas Villa Basmah, Villa Primera and Villa Patio can each accommodate up to 10 guests. A house chef is available for breakfast preparation to truly start the day relaxed and is also available to prepare all meals if required. The villas all include a barbecue area, a pétanque pitch, table tennis, extensive lounge, living and dining areas with their own fireplaces, fully equipped kitchens and four separate bedrooms with their own bathrooms.
