The most popular searched for and booked destinations in 2018 at Winerist were Bordeaux, the Douro Valley and Provence. Strong growth in bookings included to Sicily, Santa Barbara and Moldova.

The travel guides for each region further offer visitors plenty of useful information to enhance the whole holiday. Many of the places featured are small and independent meaning they were relatively hard to discover with no major presence online.

Founder and CEO Diana Isac launched Winerist five years ago having been on a wine holiday exploring parts of France and wanting to visit vineyards and being denied access due to limited opening hours etc. Diana wondered where she could find a comprehensive list of wine experiences that highlighted access and there was no such resource. Returning to London, she researched consumer demand for wine experiences and monitored the growth of wine bars, wine shops and the extensive wine lists now available at restaurants that showcase a wider variety of wines. There was also a growing interest in wine courses and qualifications such as WSET. It was time to launch Winerist.

Diana Isac was born surrounded by wine. Her Moldovan background literally placed her at the heart of a wine producing country, with memories of stomping grapes and making wine with her grandfather still very much alive in her memory. Moldova is a hidden gem in terms of travel and Winerist celebrates 20 Moldovan wine experiences including tours, wineries and hotels. The wine industry in Moldova accounts for 3.2% of the GDP and 7.5% of Moldova’s total exports, employing over 250 thousand citizens at the 140 wine companies. Moldova has the biggest density of vineyards in the world – 3.8% of the country’s territory and 7% of the arable land.

With experiences in mind, Winerist allows guests to access local experts, enjoy an authentic travel experience with a tailor-made trip at the best available prices.
