As the seasons change, North Devon provides the perfect setting to enjoy stunning sunsets while exploring one of the most magical parts of the UK.

Nestled in the Torridge Valley, Rosemoor is an enchanting place to visit in every season; cherry trees blossom in the spring, the iconic Hot Garden dazzles with vibrant colours in summer, while the woodlands blaze with autumn finery and the Winter Garden catches the eye later in the year. Rosemoor has two dedicated rose gardens packed with 200 different cultivars across a huge range of colours, habits and perfumes.

Also located in the rolling hills of North Devon, is the 50-acre garden at Castle Hill where in the autumn visitors can discover the red, amber and gold colours. This garden is a haven of tranquillity surrounding the magnificent Palladian House. Enhanced and tended by many generations of the family, this beautiful expanse of gardens offers a wealth of sights and scents that change with the seasons.

After exploring local gardens, guests at Highbullen Hotel can request written and mapped walk details for six walks local to the hotel. Two ideal ones include a short 30 to 45-minute walk, departing from the hotel, an easy stroll around the village of Chittlehamholt. A slightly longer walk between 60 and 90 minutes, departing from the hotel, a demanding circular walk across countryside and through woods offers a good perspective on the 127 acres where Highbullen Hotel is located.
